Teacher unpunished for urinating in colleagues' tea

A kindergarten teacher who urinated in his colleagues' tea in China has escaped punishment after police found they were powerless to charge him.

Secret mobile phone footage revealed 54-year-old Gao Chao urinating into the tea of four female workmates at Dongsheng Art Kindergarten in China's Jiangsu province, Metro reports.

But police are unable to act after tests revealed Gao had no infectious diseases and he had not caused harm.

It is understood Gao felt he was not receiving respect from his female colleagues so decided to take matters into his own hands.

Victim Li Kao, 26, said she was angered by the police's inaction and described how she originally noticed there was an issue with her tea.

"There was a strange smell from my tea a few weeks ago when I returned to the class after taking the children out to play in the playground," Li was quoted as saying.

"The cups are not transparent, so it was hard to see if the liquid looked strange but there was certainly a strange smell – which also came from the thermos flasks that the tea was stored in."

The four teachers had originally refused to return to work if Gao was not fired but have since agreed to return after an apology from Gao and $356 in compensation.

Gao has promised not to do it again.
