Chechen leader posts Instagram picture to prove death of terrorist

The leader of Russian republic Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, has taken to social media to prove that Russia’s most wanted terrorist was killed earlier this year.

Kadyrov, a staunch supporter of Russian President Vladimir Putin, uploaded an image to Instagram believed to be the body of warlord Doku Umarov.

“For those who would like to believe this rat is still alive, we can show him after his death,” Kadyrov wrote in the picture’s caption.

Umarov, known by some as ‘Russia’s Osama bin Laden’, was linked to a 2009 train bombing that left 26 dead and a 2011 attack on a Moscow airport that killed 36 people.

Russian sources claimed that Umarov had been killed in April, however they declined to provide any further information.
