iPhone 5 rescued from Spanish ocean floor

A man who dropped his iPhone to the bottom of the Spanish seabed is able to relive the gadget's dramatic rescue after the phone was left in record mode and captured the whole thing.

While holidaying in Menorca, Gregory Papadin was taking pictures of his brother when the mobile slipped from his grasp and into the water.

The iPhone was in record mode, and continued to shoot video of swimmers and fish as it descended to the bottom.

Thanks to a waterproof case, which no doubt saved the device’s life, the rescue was filmed.

The video shows the Mr Papadin dive into the water in pursuit of the phone then grabbing it after it crashes down and returning to the surface.

"Thank you! Oh my god, thank you," his brother says as Mr Papadin emerges with the mobile in hand.
