Indian boy kidnapped from doorstep in front of mum

A young boy in India was kidnapped from the doorstop of his own home after his abductor tricked his mother into turning her back.

CCTV shows the boy standing at the front door with his mother and sister as the pair wait for their school bus in Gujarat, Western India.

The pair are the children of a wealthy businessman, and the man accused of kidnapping the boy was a co-worker of his father’s, the HindiNews18 website reports.

In the video, two men can be seen turning up at the house on a moped. One jumps off the moped and goes to speak to the children’s mother.

The man then asks the mother to do him a favour and call his brother-in-law, HindiNews18 reports.

After the mother goes back inside the house to make the call, the man waits a few seconds before grabbing the boy and running to his moped.

A split second later the mother runs out the door chasing the men.

Police soon caught up with the men, and they were arrested 15km down the same road. The boy was reportedly returned to his mother unharmed.
