Hulk Hogan gets a win in $194 million courtroom battle

Online media company Gawker has had its motion for a new trial in the Hulk Hogan sex tape case denied by a Florida judge. 

Judge Pamela Campbell issued the ruling yesterday, and said she wouldn’t reduce the AU$194 million (US$140 million) jury verdict either.

Hogan, a professional wrestler and actor, faced off with Gawker again in the St Petersburg courtroom, in the latest chapter of a lengthy legal battle.

Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, won the verdict against Gawker in March. 

He sued the company after it posted a video of him having sex.

Earlier this month, Hogan sued Gawker again, saying the gossip website leaked sealed court documents.
