Pair free surprisingly long python from car engine

Video of two Thai men extracting a surprisingly long python from the engine of a car as onlookers squeal at its size has gone viral.

Footage of the DIY rescue mission shows one of the brave volunteers with a firm grip on the head of the snake, which was found under the hood of a Toyota 4WD last Monday.

The reptile is reluctant to budge and the man soon finds out why, as bit by bit its full length is revealed.

Screams ring out as the now-freed snake thrashes against its captor's grasp.

But the man remains calm until the creature is safely deposited in a hessian sack – when he appears to finally breathe a sigh of relief.
