Huge house gets stuck on Canadian highway

A large house, travelling on the back of a flatbed truck in Alberta, Canada, has caused an unusual traffic headache for emergency crews and commuters, after it became stuck on a busy highway.

According to emergency services at the scene, the tyres of the truck carrying the house suddenly exploded as it attempted to cross train tracks near Balzac on Highway 566 at around 5pm on Wednesday night (local time).

Authorities believe the tyres may have been punctured by something on the ground after the crossing barrier was removed to allow the truck to pass.

Crews eventually moved the truck from the tracks and replaced its tyres, but the house took several more hours to move and was finally cleared on Thursday morning.
