Hip-hop event host bashed by guest performer's entourage

Tracy T's time on stage was up but he wanted to bring on Bleu Davinci, another rapper from his label, to keep his set going.

The event host, Hustle Simmons, refused to let that happen, as other acts were waiting to perform — and that apparently was enough to trigger a brawl.

Footage shows Simmons, a big man with long dreadlocks, take a series of blows from three members of Davinci's entourage at the event he was hosting, Hustlepalooza, in Austin, in the US state of Texas, last Friday.

Simmons is seen staggering backwards after being king-hit from behind but recovers and holds his own against his attackers.

He was livid afterwards.

"I put this s--- on for y'all. $100,000 over the last six years," he told his audience.

In an expletive-filled tirade, Simmons went on to say, in essence, that rappers invited to perform on stage should respect the schedule and any disputes can be handled like grown-ups without resorting to violence.
