'Ghost' caught on camera at police station

US police officers from New Mexico have released footage of what they say is a ghost wandering their station.

The strange incident occurred at the Espanola police station on Saturday night local time when officer Karl Romero was keeping watch on the security cameras, KOAT Action 7 News reports.

Romero said he spotted something moving near a secured gate.

He says he believes the form - which seems to be moving right through cages and the gate - is a ghost.

"I do believe in ghosts - I don’t know (what exactly was on the video), but we've had some unsolved murders in the area," Romero said.

According to detectives, the area where the “ghost” was cannot be accessed without the gate opening and an alarm sounding.

Other officers at the station have reported hearing strange noises in the entrance of the building.
