Man gives crying woman last generator

A generous man has handed over the last generator in a US store to a crying woman.

Pam Brekke was one of thousands desperately stocking up on goods and reinforcing their home ahead of Hurricane Irma's landfall.

Her father is on oxygen and she was concerned what may happen to him if power was cut by the ferocious storm, so she travelled 50km to a store in Orlando after hearing a limited number of generators had been re-stocked.

But after waiting patiently in line, she realised the man in front of her was going to get the final generator.

Completely overwhelmed with the hopelessness of the situation, Ms Brekke burst into tears.

Customer Ramon Santiago had no idea why Ms Brekke was so desperate to find a generator but turned around and calmly offered her his.

Mr Santiago put his arms around Ms Brekke and they shared a warm embrace as he reassured her everything would be okay.

"That's a beautiful man right there," she said.

A modest Mr Santiago sought no praise or reward for the act of kindness, and simply said it was clear Ms Brekke needed it more.

"She need the generator," he told WFTV. "It's okay. No worry."

Ms Brekke said she was "overwhelmed" by Mr Santiago's generosity.

"That gentleman was a great gentleman right there."
