Fraudulent amputee beggar exposed by passerby

A Chinese beggar has been exposed as a fraud after a passerby managed to prove he was lying about being a double amputee.

In a mobile phone video, which has been viewed 3.5m times since it was uploaded on Friday, the man is seen using a cardboard box to collect coins and cash.

He lays front-side down on a wheeled tray, which are commonly used by beggars in China with leg amputations who cannot afford wheelchairs.

The passerby first spends several seconds talking in the beggar's ear and then walks towards his rear.

He then returns and starts tugging at the beggar's pants.

A crowd converges around the pair as the passerby eventually manages to pull down the man's pants and reveal the beggar has tucked his legs into a pair of baggy underwear.

He screams "cheat" in Mandarin as the fraudulent beggar uses his hands to propel himself away on the trolley.

It is unknown when the incident occurred or where in China it took place.
