Four killed in shooting at Texas apartment complex

At least four people have died after a shooting in Bastrop, about 50km southeast of Austin, in Texas.

NBC’s KXAN-TV said officers were called to the Childers Drive apartment complex and found the shooter dead, on Saturday night local time (9am Sunday AEST).

Bastrop Police Department Detective Vicky Steffanic said a man, two women and a child were dead, KXAN reported.

Another child is in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A witness told the KXAN she phoned emergency services after bullets entered her home in the apartment complex.

Police are investigating, and no further details are known about the shooter or their motive.
