Police dog fired after biting Florida doughnut shop employee

A Florida police dog named “Renzo” has been kicked off the force after he bit into the leg of a Dunkin’ Donuts employee in a car park near Fort Lauderdale.

The four-year-old Belgian Malinois, who had been with the Coconut Creek Police Department for just over a year, reportedly lunged out of a parked patrol car on February 11 and chomped down on the surprised doughnut shop worker’s right calf.

The shop employee suffered four bites to his leg and has hired a lawyer, according to the Sun-Sentinel.

It was not the dog’s first incident – in November last year, he bit an officer in the leg while tracking a home invasion suspect.

But it’s not all bad news for the canine – he’s beginning his retirement by moving in with his former police partner, 53-year-old officer Carl DiBlasi.
