Florida duck who survived science experiment graduates from elementary school
A Florida duck that was the only one to hatch during a school science experiment has since waddled across the graduation stage with his fellow students.
“Sergio” was the only duckling that emerged from a batch of 40 eggs as part of an experiment at Suntree Elementary.
“Since he's so cute and he's the only one who hatched and he's like 'the miracle duck', we decided to keep him," student Julia Audino told local broadcaster KMOV.
Sergio quickly became a class favourite, and was even given his own Instagram page, documenting his daily exploits.
Yesterday, Sergio’s triumph over adversity received the ultimate recognition when he crossed the stage during the official graduation ceremony.
“Not many people have a duck as a pet,” Julia said.
"He is Suntree's duck!"
