Fisherman battles with thrashing hammerhead shark on busy beach

Spectacular drone video has captured a fisherman trying to reel in a hammerhead shark on a beach in Florida.

Curtis Williams was flying his drone over Florida’s Panama City Beach on Saturday, local time, when he spotted a fisherman struggling with a shark hooked on the end of his line.

“(I’m) vacationing at beach and was going to video a nice pleasant sunset,” Mr Williams told Storyful.

“I noticed a man wading in the water and something close to him. I brought the drone down and quickly realized a monster hammerhead was next to him." 

The shark is seen in the aerial video thrashing around in the shallow water, the fisherman standing only a few metres away.

The fisherman soon wrangles the shark in, and pulls it in to the sand, before releasing it unharmed

A friend of the fisherman told Fox News he wasn’t trying to catch a hammerhead, “but when your line is out there you never know what you're going to hook into”.
