Fast-food worker's random act of kindness filmed by stranger

A US fast-food worker's act of kindness has gone viral after he was filmed helping a wheelchair-bound customer eat her meal.

The disabled woman frequented the Qdoba restaurant in Louisville, Kentucky as often as she could and employee Richard Quarles knew her well.

On a recent visit some weeks ago, Mr Quarles helped the woman through the line before she asked if he would help her eat her meal, WAV3 News reports.

Dr David Jones, a customer who helped the woman inside from the carpark, was watching as the employee immediately acquiesced to the request.

"He didn't stop to think about 'Well, should I help her, should I not?' He just went over, put the gloves on and started feeding her," Dr Jones said.

Mr Quarles stood and helped the woman eat her favourite — a taco salad with hot sauce and cheese for lunch, or a burrito with hot sauce and cheese for dinner.

Dr Jones was so touched by what he was watching he started filming, believing he would share the act with friends.

The powerful footage has since gone viral, but Mr Quarles does not believe his act was too magnanimous.

"I mean, she needs help and if I wasn't going to do it, no one was. Who else is going to do it?" he said.

After five-and-a-half years at the Mexican grill, Mr Quarles has since moved on to other work.
