Exploding e-cigarette engulfs man in flames in France

A man has suffered second degrees burns after an e-cigarette blew up in his pocket outside a nightclub in Toulouse, France.

CCTV obtained by RT shows Amine Britel, reportedly a French nightclub manager, standing beside a car when suddenly sparks fly from his back.

Mr Britel is shown jumping around frantically, trying to extinguish the flames from his body, as shocked witnesses stand back.

Moments before the accident, Mr Britel was reportedly using a vaping device, and had placed it in his back pocket.

"I heard what sounded like a firecracker but ten times louder," he told RT.

"After the shock of the explosion, I realised I had caught on fire."

Mr Britel believes the e-cigarette’s hot battery may have come into contact with coins to cause the explosion.

He has since reported the accident to the China-based manufacturers of the device.
