'Time to move on': Elon Musk 'isn't serious' about cage fight, Mark Zuckerberg says

The battle of the billionaires could be off after Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg claimed that Tesla CEO Elon Musk isn't "serious" about their proposed cage fight.

The two tech moguls seemingly agreed to a "cage match" face-off in late June.

Zuckerberg is actually trained in mixed martial arts and posted about completing his first jiu-jitsu tournament earlier this year.

Posting on Threads, the Meta-owned recently-launched competitor to Musk's X, formerly Twitter, Zuckerberg seemed to indicate overnight the match was off indefinitely.

"I think we can all agree Elon isn't serious and it's time to move on," he wrote.

"I offered a real date. Dana White offered to make this a legit competition for charity.

"Elon won't confirm a date, then says he needs surgery, and now asks to do a practice round in my backyard instead.

"If Elon ever gets serious about a real date and official event, he knows how to reach me.

"Otherwise, time to move on. I'm going to focus on competing with people who take the sport seriously."

Musk had previously posted that the fight would be live-streamed on X and that all proceeds would "go to veterans".

Zuckerberg recently posted a photo of himself competing in his "backyard octagon".
