Elderly man waiting in airport lounge with flowers shows us the true definition of devotion

An elderly gentleman caught on camera greeting a woman at an airport arrivals gate with flowers and a cuddle has warmed the hearts of millions of Facebook users just days after it was first posted.

The video, shared to the Facebook page of New York resident shared to the Facebook page of New York resident  on September 7, has already been viewed more than 18 million times.

"This is true love," the video caption reads.

The video shows an older man waiting at the gate with a bouquet of flowers.

A grey-haired woman strides through the gate moments later, and they exchanges kisses and a long hug.

The camera person and someone else can be heard expressing their appreciation at the touching gesture.

Who said chivalry was dead? A number of very cynical YouTubers, apparently.

Many have commented on a repost of the original video, casting doubt on the relationship depicted in the video.

“How do we know this isn't their first time meeting in person after chatting it up on Tinder or OKCupid?” user W. deflect said.

“That's his mistress. His wife at home thinks hes [sic] on a business trip,” John Schwieger added.
