'Drunk' Russian soldiers piled bodies onto train

Grief is turning to anger for families of MH17 victims amid accusations "drunken" pro-Russian soldiers tossed bodies into a train and tampered with evidence at the crash site.

US Secretary of State John Kerry said the armed separatist soldiers were drunk as they "unceremoniously" piled bodies into a refrigerated train carriage, according to reports.

Mr Kerry slammed the "grotesque" act saying bodies as well as evidence had been removed from the crash site, hampering international efforts to investigate the scene.

It is believed a total of 198 bodies are on board the train at a station in Torez with the rebel soliders not revealing where the train was heading next.

Ukrainian deputy prime minister Volodymyr Groysman said international investigators would be granted access to the train and bodies could be shipped back to the Netherlands.

The stench from the train holding the grisly cargo of corpses was said to be "almost unbearable" after they were left rotting in a humid eastern Ukraine field for nearly two days.

The treatment of victims' bodies has enraged distraught families who are desperately hoping for the return of their loved ones.

The mother of a Dutch boy who was killed when the plane was shot down appealing directly to Vladimir Putin for help.

"Mr Putin, send my children home," she told Sky News. "Send them home. Please."

Mrs Fredriksz-Hoogzand said "no words can describe" the pain at knowing her son's body was in the eastern Ukraine saying it was a "tragedy on top of a tragedy".
