In the face of international suspicion over Moscow's military incursion in Syria, a state broadcaster has aired some of the clearest drone footage of airstrikes and tank fire ever to emerge from the conflict.

The video, posted online on Monday, shows the scale of the devastation in parts of the Syrian capital with the landscape made up entirely of pulverised buildings and bomb craters.

It is so clear the shadows of individual soldiers can be seen on the ground as they run through the streets, with explosives dropping around them.

Since Russian forces began a bombing campaign three weeks ago, the Bashar al-Assad government has launched a number of offensives, including the effort to retake the suburb of Jobar.

The slickly produced video shows Syrian tanks firing on rebel-held positions and what appear to be missile strikes set to the tune of an electronic music soundtrack.

The video was produced by 'Russiaworks.ru' which is affiliated with Russian state broadcaster VGTRK.

A number of reporters from Russia's public broadcasters have embedded themselves with Syrian forces and it appears the drone footage was captured by embedded Russian journalists.

The propaganda efforts appear to be working on the Russian public with support for the Syrian intervention at 72 percent, according to an October 8 poll by the independent Levada Centre.

Before the Russian bombing campaign another Levada Centre poll found that just 14 percent of Russians were in favour of military support for the Assad regime.
