Driver survives seven-storey plunge from Texas car park

A driver has survived a frightening plunge after driving her car off the edge of a seven-storey car park in Texas.

Police have released CCTV capturing the moment a BMW plunged from the top floor of a car park in Austin on July 13, narrowly missing another vehicle that was backing out of the facility below.

According to police, the female driver hit the wrong pedal on the top story of the car park before driving through a barrier and plunging into an alleyway.

CCTV shows the car appearing from the air as it crashes to the ground and flips, just missing the vehicle below, before bystanders run to the driver’s aid.

The woman was reportedly taken to a nearby medical centre after suffering serious injuries.

Local media are reporting the incident was the second time a car has broken through the barriers of the Austin car park.
