Driver blames USB cable for torpedoing car off second-storey car park

Powered by

The everyday act of reaching for a stray UBS cable has led to a man crashing his car through a multi-level carpark in China.

CCTV footage showed the white sedan bursting through a wall and crash-landing two storeys below the carpark in Chongqing, in southwest China.

Witnesses to the accident rushed to free the man and his female passenger, dragging the pair through a pile of bricks and rubble.

The carpark's security cameras showed the female passenger being treated next to the car, while the driver walks around the upturned vehicle speaking on his mobile phone.

The driver said he had dropped a USB cable and while trying to retrieve it he had accidentally pressed the accelerator, China's CGTN reports.

The pair were left shaken but escaped serious injurious injury.
