Door-to-door salesman allegedly robbed during house call

A door-to-door salesman in New Zealand is reportedly traumatised after being robbed on the job.

In a video posted to Facebook and republished by 3 News, the salesman is ushered into what looks like a garage.

Once inside, the robber demands he empty his pockets.

The video's uploader is not either of the men featured in the video – raising questions about how the incident was filmed by a third-party.

"Empty your pockets, bro," the robber demands.

But the salesman, perhaps unsure if the man is serious, continues smiling.

The robber then reassures the salesman he is not mucking around.

With nothing to offer, the robber steals the salesman's two mobile phones.

Neither of the phones appeared to be returned in the video.

Police say they are investigating the footage of the incident, which they say has left the salesman "traumatised".
