Shark gang 'mugs' wreck diver

A terrified father watched on as a shark bit his daughter while the pair were on a wreck dive in Florida.

P.J. Hahn and his daughter Carly were taking part in a tourist dive off the island of Key Largo earlier this week when Carly started to open a feed box to give surrounding fish a tasty treat.

A video posted today by her father shows how the pair's long-awaited close encounter with marine life became a bit too close for comfort.

When Carly pulled the bait from the box she tried to give it to a large grouper fish but instead attracted the attention of three large sharks.

What unfolded was an underwater 'mugging' of the diver.

One shark grabbed her feeder pole as the other bit down hard on her right hand.

Footage shows her father attempting to gain her attention.

She replies with the 'thumbs up' diving signal to indicate she is OK. But not for long.

Out of nowhere a shark appears and attempts to bite that hand.

"Heart Stopper. As a father this was probably my scariest moment in life," PJ Hahn wrote on Facebook.

When the pair returned to their dive boat, they discovered the shark's tooth had pierced his daughter's chainmail glove and a pulled a nail off her finger.

"Carly shook it off laughing and said it was like having someone slam your hand in a door," her dad posted.
