Climate change ‘greatest threat we face’: David Attenborough

Sir David Attenborough has urged global action on climate change, saying it is the greatest threat humanity has ever faced.

The famous documentary-maker also blasted world leaders for not taking the danger seriously.

"The awful thing ... is that people in authority and power deny that when the evidence is overwhelming," he said.

"They do that because it's easier."

Attenborough has joined a growing chorus of calls for action on climate change, including US President Barack Obama and Pope Francis.

At the end of the year world leaders will meet for a landmark climate change summit in Paris, where they hope to agree on methods of tackling the danger.
