Dash cam captures speeding US driver’s brazen highway getaway

A US woman pulled over by police for speeding has tried to make a speedy getaway, knocking over two officers and a passenger in her wake.

The Milwaukee woman, 23-year-old Kelvina Freeman, was pulled over for speeding on May 15 and had her license suspended on the spot.

In dash cam video obtained by CBS 58, Ms Freeman can be seen then quickly reversing while two Milwaukee County sheriff’s deputies stand either side of her car.

The officers and her passenger were knocked from their feet, before Ms Freeman’s car slammed into a patrol car and sped away from the scene.

One of the deputies was sent sprawling onto the busy Interstate 43 highway, while the other officer and Ms Freeman’s passenger were knocked into a concrete wall on the side of the road.

Her brazen bid to escape was captured on video by a back-up patrol car, which then joined the pursuit of her car.

Despite managing to escape the scene, Ms Freeman was arrested days later.

She now faces potential charges include first degree recklessly endangering safety and resisting or obstructing an officer – offences which could see her jailed for up to 45 years, according to CBS 58.
