Tween idol: 'Dance Moms' star Jojo Siwa packs shopping centre

Thousands of tweens and their patient parents have braved a Melbourne shopping centre to watch Dance Moms star Jojo Siwa.

Timed perfectly with the start of the Victorian school holidays, Jojo’s performance at Eastland this morning attracted a sea of enthusiastic young fans, most wearing colourful bows in homage to the bubbly star.

The 15-year-old performed her hit, High Top Shoes, to screaming “Siwanatorz”.

With the inside of the centre full to the brim, some dedicated fans rugged up to watch Jojo from outside on the big screen.

Even those who didn’t plan to get among the “Siwanatorz” were caught up in the action, with several shoppers taking to Twitter to comment on the wild crowds at the centre.

“Even the town square is at capacity,” one woman said.

Jojo is currently on her first tour of Australia, performing at Sea World yesterday after making a splash at the Logie Awards on Sunday.

Her next stop is Westfield Parramatta in Sydney on Saturday.

Jojo gained fame for her starring role on US reality show, Dance Moms, which she appeared on until 2016.

She is now pursuing a music career and garners millions of views posting videos to her YouTube channel, “Its Jojo Siwa”.
