Woman kills husband for beating family cat

A woman in the US has been charged with shooting and killing her husband because he had been beating the beloved family cat.
Dallas police say Mary Harrison, 47, admitted to shooting her husband, Dexter, 49, during an argument over the cat on Saturday (local time).
Mr Harrison was taken to hospital where he died soon after.
In a statement yesterday, Harrison told officers that her husband was beating the cat.
The argument comes weeks after the cat went missing from the North Texas home.
Neighbours told police Harrison had posted signs around the neighbourhood about the pet’s disappearance before it returned home.
Harrison has been jailed on a murder charge and is being held on an $100,000 bond.
