Father saves son from carjacker

A dad has saved his three-year-old boy after a carjacker tried to drive away with his son in the backseat.

Tahir Mehmood saw his wife and five-year-old son forced out of their parked car as he walked out of a British Aldi supermarket, the BBC reports.

He noticed a stranger behind the steering wheel of his car and ran towards it.

The thief started to reverse the car with the doors open.

Mehmood lunged into the passenger's seat and stopped the crook from taking his son.

"At that particular moment I was more concerned about my three-year-old son's life rather than the car," he told the BBC.

The struggle continued between the two as the car rolled backwards.

The carjacker escaped when it hit another packed car.
