Creative dad turns son's medical headwear into Star Wars helmets

One US dad has turned a medical necessity into his own passion project, painting his baby son’s corrective helmets to resemble characters from Star Wars.

Baby Jack was diagnosed with craniosynostosis, a growth condition where the skull prematurely turns into bone, requiring him to wear the corrective headwear.

His creative father channelled Star Wars android R2D2 and fighter pilots from the film franchise to decorate and embellish the helmets in identical patterns to the characters.

The photos were then posted to Reddit, where they attracted praise from a number of people who said they also had the condition as a child.

Approximately, one in 2000 children are born with craniosynostosis.
