Cow on the loose after slaughterhouse escape in New York City
9NEWS
Farm animals are not something New Yorkers see wandering through the streets of their city every day.
However, that’s indeed what locals in the Queens district saw after a runaway cow escaped from a slaughterhouse earlier this week.
The animal was on the loose for at least half an hour before being captured by police.

It was eventually cornered in a parking garage and led into a trailer by police using a rope.
Officers from the New York Police Department (NYPD) were sure to make the most of the moment, posting a selfie with the cow on Twitter.
NYPD said neither the cow nor the police officers involved were injured in the chase.
