Councilman leaves his mic on during toilet break

A Texas councilman has reduced his fellow elected officials to hysterics after accidentally leaving his microphone on during a toilet break.

Sounds of the unidentified Georgetown councilman’s trip to the bathroom were amplified for all to hear at the recent meeting.

Councilwoman Rachael Jonrowe was earnestly trying to discuss infectious diseases when the quiet decorum of the meeting was hopelessly shattered.

Video of the meeting, uploaded to YouTube on Friday, shows Ms Jonrowe unable to keep a straight face as the sounds of the councilman relieving himself echo around the council chambers.

When the councilman returns his colleagues fill him in on his faux pas.

No doubt adding to his embarrassment, several online commentators have been quick to point out the councilman’s potential lack of hygiene, with the audio hinting at a distinct lack of hand washing.
