Cop in tears during final sign-off after 30 years on the job

A Florida police man has been filmed breaking down as he wrapped his last-ever patrol shift.

Officer Andre Jenkins has worked for the Sarasota Police Department (SPD) for more than three decades.

The dedicated officer had his final day on the job on Saturday, with cameras recording his radio sign-off.

“This will be my last transmission,” Officer Jenkins says, struggling to hold back the tears.

“I’d like to thank my whole SPD department…I have many great memories over my career, and I appreciate it.

“I’ll remember it for the rest of my life.”

He then lets the tears flow freely, as message after message from fellow officers roll in, wishing him all the best.

“Enjoy your retirement…I’ll be there one day,” one police man says.

The Facebook video of Officer Jenkins’ touching farewell has gone viral over the past two days, garnering nearly a quarter million views.
