Chinese trio derail elevator after drunken night out

A trio from Haidong in China's Qinghai Province learnt a valuable lesson in elevator etiquette after inadvertently derailing their moving lift on a drunken night out this past Saturday.

The footage which was published by CCTV News shows one man banging on the doors of the lift before his friend tries to best him.

However his efforts to one-up the other man fail miserably as he violently kicks the elevator doors, bringing the lift to an abrupt stop.

Clearly distressed the men frantically pry the doors off the elevator and escape through an open cavity.

It's not the first time a Chinese elevator accident that's found its way onto social media.

Last year residents in north China's Shanxi Province managed to escape from an elevator after it began to shake while descending.

Surveillance video shows the elevator shaking and smoke coming out of the control panel.
