Ginger cat interrupts TV interview

A pet cat has interrupted an interview on Dutch television, creating a light-hearted diversion from a controversial issue.

In the since edited interview that aired last week, Polish historian and political scientist Jerzy Targalski was commenting on the controversial forced removal of Polish top judge Malgorza Gersdorf by the governing PiS Party.

As Mr Targalski discussed the controversial matter with the NTR reporter, a large ginger house cat climbs up the historian's right shoulder.

It then crawls across his back and starts affectionately grooming him.

Mr Targalski manages to keep his composure as the tabby steals the focus from him.

Ms Gersdorf is a Polish lawyer and judge who has served as the First President of the Supreme Court of Poland since 2014.

She has defiantly continued to work despite new Right Wing retirement laws trying to drive her out of the job.

The furry feline interruption is similar to another adorable photo bomb on live television.

Last March, Pusan National University professor Robert E Kelly was being interviewed on BBC World News when his daughter waltzed into the room to have a chat with him.

Mr Kelly tried his best to maintain his professionalism during the interview but then a baby rolls in in a walking frame to join the fun.

The two children are eventually herded away by their frantic mother allowing the rest of the interview to continue.
