US bus bully gets swift justice

A thug who challenged an elderly man to a fist fight then terrorised his wife on a New York bus got a taste of mob justice when passengers sprang on him and beat him.

Video taken by a commuter shows the young bully, wearing a yellow cap and leather jacket, hurling foul-mouthed insults at the elderly couple as they sit minding their own business.

The pensioner keeps his cool as the insults fly but finally snaps when the thug starts to intimidate his wife, rising up cane-in-hand up to confront him.

The other passengers quickly spring to his side and start raining down blows on the thug.

One passenger can be heard saying "well done" as the bully is bundled off the bus.
