Tony Award-winning actress Ruthie Ann Miles has lost her unborn baby two months after a tragic car crash claimed the life of her 4-year-old daughter.

In March, two children including Ms Miles’ daughter, Abigail Blumstein, were killed after a driver allegedly ran a red light in Brooklyn, NY, after reportedly suffering a seizure.

The Broadway star, who was seven months pregnant, was also hit by the car.

“At the time of the crash Ruthie was pregnant and was severely injured,” Ms Miles’ family lawyer told the NY Daily News.

“This past Friday Ruthie and Jonathan lost their baby, Sophia Rosemary Wong Blumenstein,” continued the statement.

“The pain suffered by Ruthie and Jonathan is nearly impossible to fathom.”

Following the accident, a crowd funding page was set up to help Ms Miles and her husband Jonathan Blumenstein.

An earlier statement on the page said Ms Miles’ unborn child was “unharmed,” and the 35-year-old, who was initially in a critical condition, was “on the road to physical recovery.”

As for the woman behind the wheel - earlier this month, she was charged with involuntary manslaughter after pleading "not guilty."

The 44-year-old was "warned" not to drive after suffering a stroke and being at risk for seizures.
