Brazilian firefighter prevents suicide with flying kick

A rescuer has prevented a woman from killing herself in Brazil with a deftly timed - and stingingly accurate - kick to the face.

Video of the incident uploaded earlier this week shows the woman climb onto the ledge of the window of her 10^th floor apartment in Fortaleza, in the country's north, evidently contemplating throwing herself to her death.

The fireman in the apartment above had other ideas.

As the woman sits on the edge of life and death, she appears to take a moment to pray, clasping her hands together and looking towards the heavens.

Taking advantage of the pause, the rescuer, who is wearing an abseiling harness, takes a few steps down the wall, swings out, and lands a perfect two-footed kick that appears to hit the would-be jumper in the face and chest.

She flies head-over-turkey back through the window with her saviour not far behind.
