Bold child snatcher in China caught on CCTV

A brazen child snatcher in China used a stick to hook the pram of a baby girl who was left unattended by her grandmother on a busy street.

CCTV footage taken on Sunday on the crowded streets of Nanchang begins with the grandmother leaving her granddaughter to go to the toilet.

Within seconds a man holding a white stick, believed to have been a piece of sugar cane, makes his move towards the pram, reports the Mirror.

Footage shows him casually strolling through the pavement which is packed with people. He slips the stick under the pram handle and pulls it towards him before making off with the child.

He was eventually apprehended on a bus by authorities, and the child was safely returned to her guardians.

The kidnap attempt was revealed by a local news station which posted the clip leading police to find the man.

Police later released photos of the man and said he was a suspect in a number of robberies.
