Brave cop's sneaky arrest caught on film

A daring Colombian police officer has been filmed in a perfectly timed sneak attack on a crazed knife-wielding man, pouncing while his back is turned before tackling him to the ground.

Over a dozen police attended a tense stand-off with the half-naked man, who swung a heavy machete through the air forcing officers to keep their distance.

Video shows officers attempt to calm the man down as he swings the weapon with vicious strokes, at one stage trying to attack an onlooker.

But the shirtless offender is gradually hemmed in as the police expertly inch forward, before one brave cop races in and tackles the man to the ground in a flash.

The four-minute video was filmed in a cobbled square in Manizales, Columbia.
