Two-year-old jumps onto tracks 90 seconds before train arrives

A teenager rescued a young boy who jumped off a train platform and onto the tracks.

CCTV shows two-year-old Mohamed run towards impending disaster at a Milan metro station on Tuesday.

He had been sitting next to his mum on the train platform seconds earlier.

Lorenzo Pianazza, 18, who was on the platform at the time, quickly dumped his backpack, leaped after the young boy and lifted him to safety.

Mohamed’s mother and other passersby can be seen moving towards the tracks to see what had happened to the child.

Mr Pianazza also picked up the chlid’s toy off the tracks, despite a train being scheduled to arrive in 90 seconds.

Mohamed was taken to hospital for a check-up but suffered no injuries.
