Boston Celtics star claims NBA's greatest non-basket

It's the shot that could go down in NBA history as the greatest basket never to count.

Boston Celtic Jae Crowder stunned onlookers when he cleared the entire court with an inbound pass from under his own hoop that found the bottom of the net against the Indiana Pacers.

Only one problem – a team can't score off an inbound pass.

With just a second remaining in the second quarter, Crowder, from behind the baseline, launched a speculative pass downtown for a quick bucket quarterback-style.

But his pass never found its intended target, instead it flew straight into the basket and was immediately counted off the scoreboard.

If it had been allowed, Crowder would be the new holder of the longest made shot in the NBA with his 94 foot (29m) pass-turn-basket easily eclipsing current holder Baron Davis' 89-footer attempt in 2001.
