A video purportedly shot in Romania on the weekend appears to show a skier hurtling downhill, hotly pursued by a bear.

The video was shot from the chairlift, with passengers shouting encouragement at the skier.
Romanian news outlet Digi24 reported the video was shot at Predeal.
Observers cried out, "God forbid, don't look back!"

Eventually, the skier tossed away their backpack, which distracted the bear long enough for them to make a clean getaway.
The skier remains officially unidentified for now but is no doubt going to have their head on a swivel when they're next on the powder.
