Bad Santa offers candy canes to workers before robbing US bank

A man dressed in a Santa mask has robbed a bank in the US after handing out candy canes to customers and employees.

CCTV from the Memphis City Employee Credit Union in Tennessee captured the man as he calmly walked into the bank on Wednesday and offered a treat to a teller.

The Memphis Police Department said the man then demanded money from a  cash drawer after handing the teller a note.

Police said the festive thief also wished those inside the bank a Merry Christmas.

The man fled the bank after stealing the cash and was seen on security video removing the Santa mask as he walked away.

No arrests have yet been made.
