Powerful 7.6 quake strikes off Solomons

A powerful 7.6-magnitude earthquake has struck off the Solomon Islands, with a tsunami warning being issued for the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, and Papua New Guinea.

The US Geological Survey said the quake was measured at a depth of around 29km and was about 300km from Solomon Islands' capital Honiara.
