The man died after falling four floors at Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok. (AAP stock) 

A 32-year-old Australian has died following an incident at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi airport.

The man, who also held Irish citizenship, reportedly took the escalator to the fourth floor, jumped over the railing and hit the ground below, according to airport general manager Sirote Duangratana.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead just after 8am local time.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Kawee Ratana told the ABC the man was seen on CCTV alone walking from the third floor to the fourth, and was not threatened by anyone else.
