Afghan stadium blasts kill at least 11

At least 11 people have been killed when three back-to-back explosions struck a cricket stadium in eastern Afghanistan.

Forty-five others were injured in the incident on Friday, which occurred in Jalalabad city, according to a provincial governor's spokesman.

The explosions, caused by previously placed explosives, took place while a cricket match for the Ramadan Cup was being played.

The event's organiser, Hidayatullah Zaheer, and a number of other local officials were among the dead.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.

At least nine people were killed and 36 others were injured on Sunday when militants attacked a government building in Jalalabad.
