Angry seal roars through Auckland backyard

An angry seal has terrified a few New Zealanders by running them down in their yard as they tried to coax it away.

The furious marine mammal invited itself into the Auckland backyard where it roared like an engine at the approaching human.

One man who crept toward the seal with a plank of wood to remove it from the yard in the suburb of Ranui got a scary reaction.

The little seal charged the man, startling him and causing him to stumble backwards and fall.

The raging and roaring seal continued its charge through the yard, sending the man scurrying away in retreat.

The footage was recorded on Saturday and shared by New Zealand's 3 News.
