Two US college anglers had a lucky escape after a terrifying boat accident while traveling at 100kph.

Video captured the high speed ejection of University of Florida College bass anglers Hunter Bland and Conner Young from their boat while they were competing in a fishing competition last weekend.

Footage shows the pair speeding along a narrow part of waterway on Lake Seminole on a seemingly perfect day for fishing.

But then the boat hits the wash wake of another boat and tilts abruptly to one side, throwing the men out and into the water.

According to sources at the event, a locknut came loose on their boat's hydraulic steering which left it without steering, reports wired2fish.

Bland and Young escaped injury, thanks largely to wearing life jackets and the boat's kill switch that cut the motor from running.
